Course Objectives
Identify the interplay of Key ideas, attitudes and social justice issues related to nationality, linguistic background, race, class, gender, religion, ability and sexual orientation within and among the characters, plots, settings of the selected texts
Social Justice- Relates to social justice because African- American students were not being treated equally. By Little Rock Nines' enrollment, justice was done to an extent because civil rights movement still had a long way to go.
Nationality- Is part of the course objective because the nation had long since been held in it's customs which were that segregation was perfectly fin. From restaurants to drinking fountains, blacks were kept away from the whites.
Race- One group of people were being discriminated towards because of their race which is racism.
Class- The Little Rock Nine were from the lower class part of society and wanted to better themselves through education so they can have the same opportunities as upper-class white America.
